It is the dreaded cold and flu season! Many children have been getting sick, most with the common cold, some with the flu. If your child is ill and unable to attend class, or if he/she will miss a day for any other reason, please call us at the school at 503-655-3074. You will need to provide the following information:
(1) your child’s name and grade
(2) the reason for your child’s absence
(3) if/when you will be picking up your child’s work for the day.
The health department has asked every school to keep track of the number of flu cases so that we can close if needed. Therefore, we would like to know the reason for your child’s absence.
Don’t Forget! We have reading homework every night. This does have an effect on the reading grade. Spelling homework is due every Monday.
Parent Teacher Conferences are Thursday, November 19. Please confirm your scheduled time as soon as possible.
We are having a Thanksgiving celebration on Tuesday, November 24th. Our party will begin at 11am so there will be no need to bring a lunch. The children have helped decide what type of food items to have and most volunteered to bring certain items. Please see the “Party List” posted outside of the classroom and if you are unable to bring an item please send a note back to me so I can get it covered. Thank you.
Our next class store will be on Monday, November 30th. We could use more help from you to keep this store running! We are looking for items ranging from $1 to $10. Other items we could use in the classroom are gift cards to Michael’s for crafts, small candies for winning games (no gum), and disposable microwaveable plates.
