Twila Denham

Mrs. Denham is our Principal and has been at GCS for more than 20 years.

Twila DenhamI have been the acting GCS school principal for the past two years, at the retirement of Mrs. Watterud. If the love for learning can be inherited, then I owe a debt of gratitude to my parents, uncles, aunts and cousins who, by their example in the classroom, instilled that desire in me as well. I believe that teaching is a God-given gift of ministry and I am so thankful to be able to use this gift with the students of Grace Christian School where I have worked as a teacher and/or administrator for the past 22 years.

I graduated from Northwest University with a B.A. degree, completing a double major in English and History and a double minor in Missions and Curriculum Development, receiving the honor of Magna cum laude. I worked on my master’s degree at the Assemblies of God Seminary in Springfield, Missouri. I also wrote curriculum at the Gospel Publishing House on a full time basis. This has led me into free lance writing for a number of Christian publications for educators.

I love to teach! Whether it be kindergarteners or high schoolers, the joy of being in the classroom is indescribable as each age brings its own unique “style” to the learning process. I know that God, in His creative ability, has also given each staff member at GCS this same enthusiasm and desire to serve the needs of all of our students.

My husband Bob and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary this summer. We have 3 wonderful daughters, Kalika (22), Kendra (19), and Kayla (16). All three of our children have attended Grace beginning with 3-year-old Preschool, with our two oldest completing their high school diplomas here. We are excited that all of them have shared the same desire, to graduate from GCS and continue in education.
