Twila Denham
Mrs. Denham is our Principal, and has been at GCS for more than 15 years.
I have been a fixture at Grace Christian School for the last 15 years. I grew up in the Midwest where I graduated as Valedictorian from high school. Then I moved to Washington to attend Northwest University. I graduated from Northwest with a B.A. degree, completing a double major in English and History and a double minor in Missions and Curriculum Development. I received the honor of Magna cum laude. I worked on my master’s degree at the Assemblies of God Seminary in Springfield, Missouri, as I worked at Gospel Publishing House writing curriculum. This led naturally into the area of free lance writer for a number of Christian publications for educators.
I have taught the core subjects (Math, reading, spelling, Grammar, History, & Science) to the Jr. High class for the last 7 years as well as high school classes each year until this year. Two years ago I was given the honor of becoming the Jr. High/High School principal while still teaching full time in Jr. high and high school. As of the school year 2009-10, the board appointed me as School principal and placed me in charge of the day to day operations of the school. I consider this to be a great honor and I look forward to getting to working with the elementary students and staff. I will continue to teach part-time in Jr. High as well as high school advisor (in charge of transcripts and course work) and Jr. High/High school counselor.
I have been married for 23 years to my husband, Bob. We have 3 wonderful daughters, Kalika , Kendra, and Kayla and one son-in-law, Erik. Each one of our children has attended Grace since Preschool and we are excited for the opportunity for them to graduate from Grace.
